There is more type in this shop than you can shake a stick at, and we have plenty of composing sticks to shake at it too.
We have over 150 cases of wood type, from 2 line to 39 line. As for our lead type, there are over 600 cases of it lining the aisles in the shop. We have full families of Caslon, Garamond, Bulmer, Venus, Cloister and Cheltenham to name a few.
Dock 2 Letterpress has several presses well in to their 90s even 100s. From the little Pilot tabletop presses, to the 6 foot 6 inch Wesel Iron Handpress, there is a press for every job. Speaking of jobbers, we have two 8"x12" hand feed treadle operated presses and two automated ATF Little Giants, that aren't really all that little at all. Let's not forget our newest press a cute little Vandercook No. 3 Proof Press.
Our bindery is where it all comes together. We have an antique hand guillotine cutter. That's right no hydraulics here, spin the clamp down and pull the lever. Best part is it still cuts as square as it did when it first came off the production room floor.
